Capacitec announces the GPD-1.5SW(.004)-A-150, the thinnest back-to-back capacitive gap sensor ever. A flexible 0.0040” (100 Micron) thickness capacitive sensor wand designed to virtually eliminate tilt error. Ideal applications include gap measurements in slot die coaters used in EV-electric automotive battery production, tight Aerospace composite structural components interfaces, and Tape coating manufacturing operations including roll-to-roll measurements.
State-of-the-Art in Gap Measurement: GPD-1.5SW(.004)-A-150 / Gapman Gen4
The GPD-1.5SW has symmetric back-to-back capacitive sensors to measure into 5.9” (150mm) deep gap positions, as small the thickness of a piece of paper. Capacitec’s newest portable Gapman Gen4 (with BT 4.0) supports these super thin gap sensor wands. Customers can select a gap range of 1000 Microns or 500 Microns with resultant resolutions of 100 or 50 nanometers.
